Final Grades - COMP213 - Fall 2004 Semester

Yanni's Note:

Well, its the end of the year and the end of a very busy semester, for both students and faculty.

Firstly, I want to thank you (the entire class) for giving me the opportunity to teach a courses I consider important, practical, and challenging, but at the same time interesting and enjoyable.  Stepping into a COMP213 lecture or lab was one of the exciting moments of my day, and for that I must thank each and every student (some more than others raising the 'excitement' bar).

Secondly, don't ignore the importance of this course.  Throughout the semester we examined and discussed many core topics in computing, topics that you will be assumed to know is subsequent courses.  From fundamental data representation in binary to concepts in operating systems, each has made you a better computing scientist...even if you don't know it, yet!

Thirdly, do not assume that what was covered in the course is complete and finished, or for that matter current.  Tomorrow's technology will have changed, and it is your job to stay current--as your teacher, and as a friend, my goal is to have shown what is out there.
If you have any questions, whether about computing or life in general, my door and e-mail is always open.

So study hard, keep well, write a few "C" programs to stay fresh, and I'll being seeing you around next semester (and next year).
(I envy each of you and the courses you will be taking, don't dissappoint me by not succeeding!)
